Coaching Cross Country and Track is a chance to teach so much more than running.  It is a chance to teach hard work, dependability and character.  Most importantly, it is an opening to teach Christ.  I am not sure who originally said it but there is a quote that says "If we don't teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to."  I have many years of experience coaching in public schools and have always viewed it as a personal ministry.  However, that ministry is somewhat restrained in that environment.  At CCS, I am free to fulfill that ministry and teach Christ by using words in addition to being a role model.
